Buddy - Student Film

An anxious 11-year-old boy must learn to ride a bike or else he can't go home to his mom.

Logline: After learning his uncle died young in a cycling accident, a scared 11 year old boy must learn how to ride a bike or his angry father wont let him go home.

Location: Greater Austin Area

Dates: October 24th and 25th

All roles are paid

Buddy will have a stunt where he falls off his bike but there will be a stunt coordinator to ensure complete safety.

Buddy (Paid) - Male (8 - 13): An anxious 11-year-old boy who is deathly afraid of his dad and riding a bike. His parents are newly divorced, and he just wants to get home to his mom. He finds his dad's new relationship to be weird and gross. Must be capable of riding a bike.

Mark (Paid) - Male (40s): A work-obsessed man trying to raise the perfect son. He doesn't see Buddy that often, so he tries to fit as much parenting into his weekends as possible. Will have a kiss on screen but can be faked.

Leila (Paid) - Female (30s) POC: Mark's new girlfriend loves kids and wants one of her own. She is excited by her new relationship and the lavish way Mark treats her. She wants to prove to him that patience is key to helping a kid grow. Will have a kiss on screen but can be faked.

Mom (Paid) - Female (40s): A high strung Mom who is busy trying to balance her career with taking care of her only son. She hates leaving Buddy far away from her with a dad she finds irresponsible.
