COMING-OF-AGE FILM

Compensation: This is a non-union, unpaid independent production. Food/meals will be provided on set. We are currently casting for an upcoming 40-minute independent coming-of-age short film set in Toronto. Filming is currently looking to commence in Spring 2027. We are looking to cast the principal actors ahead of production and begin rehearsals as we build toward filming.

ROLES
Hannah — Female, Mid-20s
Open ethnicity. A caring, grounded, and independent young woman in a long-term relationship with the protagonist. She genuinely supports his ambitions while navigating her own goals and ideas about the future. Looking for an actor capable of bringing warmth, emotional depth, and naturalistic chemistry to the role.
Intimacy: The role may involve romantic intimacy with an actor including affectionate physical contact and potentially kissing. Any intimate scenes will be discussed clearly with the selected actor in advance and approached professionally and respectfully.

Saif - Male, Mid-20s
Open ethnicity. The protagonist's best friend since childhood. Funny, confident, loyal, and outspoken, with a friendship that feels lived-in and authentic. Looking for strong comedic timing alongside the ability to transition naturally into more emotionally grounded scenes.

Uncle Salman - Male, 40-50
South Asian. A warm, charismatic uncle who has played an important role in the protagonist's life. He is supportive, thoughtful, and carries a strong sense of perspective about life, dreams, and the choices we make. Looking for an actor who can bring warmth, sincerity, and emotional depth to the character.
